Contracts Advisor / Contracts Manager jobs and careers Saudi Arabia : Stafford Lawrence is engaged on behalf of a Global Organisation client to find a Contracts Advisor / Contracts Engineer /Contracts Manager for a position based in Dammam Saudi Arabia. This is a permanent full-time client side role with a very well known giant in the industry.  The role will be working as part of the central Project Management team on a number of large-scale construction projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These projects could be port/marine, construction or on shore Oil and Gas construction projects.

Our client are a world-class global client-side organisation.

Previous Middle East experience is desirable for this  Contracts Advisor or Contracts Manager role, but they will consider candidates without middle east experience if you have worked in the construction sector on very large-scale multi-billion dollar mega projects.  ALL requirements must be met to be considered for these senior-level roles with this client-side organisation.

Requirements for the Contracts Advisor Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Please note that ALL of the following requirements must be met.

  • A degree qualification in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting or Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management. We cannot accept candidates without a degree qualification in the subjects mentioned.
  • Extensive Contracts Management for large scale projects in the Construction or Oil and Gas sectors or both.
  • At least 10+ years experience of Cost Engineering , with a solid understanding of middle east contracts. Cost Engineering for construction projects is a key requirement
  • The role is open to any nationality as long as you meet ALL the above requirements.
  • You must show a solid work history. Our client would like to see long periods of work with a well-known organisation they are wary of  movement every 1-2 years.
  • Freelancers need not apply. Our client is seeking candidates who are seeking permanent employment and who have worked in permanent roles in the past.

Please note the following are desirable or nice to have

  • Previous Middle East experience is desirable
  • Chartered status is not essential but desirable
  • Additional cost engineering certifications

Job Description for the Contracts Manager / Advisor

  • You will develop and review and administer cost engineering contracts and agreements for large engineering /construction projects, ensuring all Terms & Conditions are implemented.
  • Develop and review contracting strategy & plan as well as conducting market analysis to determine the best type of contract for the project, providing alternatives if required.
  • Administer the contracts and ensure all terms and conditions are implemented.
  • Implement and monitor the procurement process for all contracts.
  • Develop review and negotiate change orders and participate in negotiation meetings for all change orders.
  • Evaluate supplier and contractor performance and resolve any issues or disputes.
  • Actively work to avoid disputes and avoid occurance and breaches of contract.
  • Active involvement in contract closeout at completion.
  • In addition, prepare various reports for management.
  • Prepare and review agreements and MOU with JVS and external parties
  • Participate in sessions with low-performing contractors and log all actions

  • A total package salary (tax-free) discussed on a case-by-case basis, commensurate with experience.
