Contract Specialist, Contract & Claims Manager Job Vacancy Nepal, Asia: Stafford Lawrence is engaged to recruit a Contracts Manager or specialist in Contracts on behalf of a well-known Engineering Consultancy for a 21-month full-time position in Nepal.  Please read the requirements carefully for this role as the end client are very particular.

Experience with Roads, Bridges and Highways specifically ICB ( Indo-China Border Roads) is also an essential requirement

Requirements for the Contracts Manager Job Nepal – International Contracts Manager Vacancies

  • A degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying Construction Management or Commercial management PLUS a higher qualification such as MSc LLM or PGDip. Both Degree and a Masters are essential requirements for this position.
  • In addition to the above qualifications, 20 Years of experience in Engineering in total, of which 15 should be Roads, Highways, Bridges Civils projects. At least 10 years as a Contracts Specialist or Contracts Manager. You must have held this title with an Engineering Consultancy.
  • Experience with Roads, Bridges and Highways specifically ICB ( Indo-China Border Roads) is also an essential requirement. We would like to see at least 2 years experience on ICB Roads for this role.
  • A specialist with all forms of FIDIC Contracts. Experience in particular with FIDIC MDB would be highly desirable.
  • You will be a highly respected technical specialist capable of providing expert advice and an authority or specialist on Contracts Management.
  • Candidates MUST have experience with a Tier 1 Engineering Consultancy. We are not seeking main contractors for these roles.
  • Single Status candidates are preferred for this role. Our client may consider family status in some cases.
  • It would be highly desirable if candidates have a Chartered Status for this position. Although Chartered Status is not an essential requirement for this role.

Job Description for the Contracts Specialist/ Manager Job Vacancy Nepal

  • You will assist the employer and Team Leader in Contracts Administration and Contracts Management of the civil works contracts.
  • Assist in the interpretation of the Contract/ Agreement clauses and their implementation, especially in instances of disputes.
  • Interpret Technical specifications and Contract Documents.
  • Review and ensure conformity of Contractor’s securities in approved formats.
  • Ensure all paperwork and insurance provided by the contractor are Contract compliant.
  • Assist in the finalization of Bidding documents, if not already prepared. In addition, you will assist in the evaluation of bids for contracts for Civil Works.
  • Provide Dispute resolution and claims advice.
  • Measure quantities of works, record measurements and verify BOQ work items /work quantities are executed in the Contractor’s monthly statement. Maintain these records.
  • In addition, you will verify interim payment certificates received from the contractors.
  • Track and record and monitor progress and compensation events.
  • Assess and prepare Employers’ claims, Variation and Extension of Time Documentation
  • Assist with Contract termination procedures if required
  • Perform post-award functions including modifying contracts, monitoring contract performance and closing out contracts.

Salary & Benefits- Contracts & Claims Manager / Contracts Specialist

The successful Contract Management professional can expect a basic salary of $7500- 8,500 per month,  in addition to a basic salary you will also receive the following
