We are recruiting for a Dam DESIGN Engineer ( Embankment Dams / Earthfill Dams/ RCC Dams) for a full-time permanent position with a well known European Engineering Construction Consultancy for their offices in Oman. Our client are considered an excellent Engineering Consultancy to work for in Oman.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Senior Dam Design Engineer

PLEASE READ REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING. We are looking for ALL of the following, NOT JUST ONE

  1. A Designer – Someone with Dam Design experience specifically for DAM BODIES. We are NOT looking for Construction Supervision, hydraulics or anything else.
  2. Highly skilled in Dam Design with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in earth-fill or embankment dams and their foundations. Please note we are not looking for anymore than 15 years experience, this is reflected in the salary. Please provide detailed information on your CV in relation to dam body design.
  3. A Strong understanding of Clay Core or Rockfill RCC Dam Design
  4. In addition, A BSc degree in Civil Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering or a construction design-related degree qualification.
  5. An MSc in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering, in addition to your Degree Qualification
  6. Knowledge and hands-on experience in essential analyses of dams and foundations e.g., stability, stress, and seepage analyses using modern software and tools are mandatory.
  7. Experience and knowledge of the Design of foundation treatments such as foundation water tightening and foundation stabilisation. Design of Instrumentation systems for Dams and foundations
  8. Excellent English language skills.
  9. Solid experience of software for the design of Dam Bodies. Please detail all of your software experience on your CV and provide the level of experience e.g Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced

Role of the Dam Design Engineer Middle East jobs, careers and recruitment

  • In this position, you will be engaged in the design and analysis of earth-fill/ embankment Dams and their foundations, so very strong Dam Design experience is required.
  • You will use your experience of the relevant international design practices and standards to oversee and provide the Dam Design.
  • In addition, You will carry out calculations, coordinate the preparation of drawings and prepare design reports and specifications.
  • Independently develop engineering designs for dam projects, in particular, earth-fill dams
  • In addition, Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, specifications, procurement documents, proposal evaluations, and technical reports.
  • You will also manage junior engineers working in your department and coordinate production with other departments.

Salary & Benefits for the Dam Design Professional- Middle East Engineering Recruitment

This is a full-time permanent position with a well-known engineering consultancy for a Dam Design Engineer based in Oman. We do not recruit freelancers.

Our client would prefer a single status candidate for this position. They may consider a candidate on a married status. Family status candidates with a number of children, must bring their family at their own expense.

  • A salary including accommodation allowance of 1700-2200 OMR per month. This can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
  • In addition transport allowance is provided
  • Medical insurance cover is provided on top of the basic salary
  • Mobilisation flights and visa costs.
