QS work for many different organisations from Client-Side to Cost Consultancies (PQS) to Contractors and SubContractors.

They work in many different construction sectors. Residential Commercial, Mixed Use, Education, Water, Civils and Highways, Rail, Power and many more sectors including Mining and Renewables.

Many Quantity Surveyors or Cost Consultants go on to become chartered MRICS or MCIOB. Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors https://www.rics.org/uk/ or Member of the Chartered Institute of Building https://www.ciob.org/about.
